ABOUT THE STARLITE MOTEL

Built in the late 1960s, the Starlite Motel was clearly designed to encourage long visits and many happy returns.

Staying true to this mission, our little Catskills hotel with its cabin-like feel, continues to be second home to many outdoor enthusiasts, filled with the nostalgia of great family memories built here while skiing, snowboarding, hiking, river-tubing, horseback riding, antique shopping, auction bidding, hunting, fishing, bird-watching, golfing and sight-seeing and more.  

The Property

On it's 2.5 acres, our boutique hotel has a mere 8 rooms, which shows our commitment to maintaining an outdoor experience. On the approach, the Starlite Motel is set back from Route 28 and nestled into the postcard setting of Rose Mountain. First time visitors are secure in the fact that this is a quiet location. The surprise comes when they first open the back door of their kitchen to find a retreat in the backyard; a sprawling wooded area with picnic tables, charcoal grills for every room, a deck to lounge out and a screened room for outdoor dining or lounging.  

Here at the Starlite Motel, we are all about enjoying the Catskills in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.

Our Rooms

Rooms are well-appointed with parking at the front door of every unit. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and loaded with amenities such as Kitchens, 90+ Cable Channels, 26" Flat Screen TV, DVD Player, Free Wireless Internet and Newly Renovated Baths.

Open all four seasons, the Starlite Motel's rooms are efficiently heated with individual thermostats to help your achieve your own level of comfort through the cold months and Air conditioning for the warmer months. And when it's neither hot nor cold and you prefer fresh air, leave your front door and back door open and let the screened doors filter the air in for you.

Efficiency Rooms versus Semi-Efficiency Rooms

Efficiency Rooms - Fully equipped Kitchens with Full-sized Fridge, 4 Burner Stove with Oven, Dinnerware and Flatware for up to 4 persons.

Semi-Efficiency Rooms - Kitchens are equipped with Mini-fridge, Microwave, Coffee-maker, Toaster, Dinnerware and Flatware for 4 persons. (No Stove)

Non-Smoking Rooms - All rooms are non-smoking but there are areas in the backyard where ashtrays are provided.

Room renovations are quietly in progress, starting with the proud completion of our bathroom updates. Still,  we take delight in mixing  today's conveniences with yesteryear's Catskill charm.

Location

A mere 2.5 hours of highway driving from New York City, yet the Starlite Motel is in the Heart of the Catskill Region, full of adventure and outdoor fun, year-round. 

The Starlite is located on Route 28 in Big Indian, near famous hiking trails like the Big Indian Slide Mountain Trail and near to many towns and attractions which keeps our small Catskills hotel busy most of the year:
